CCG Projects Scoop GIA Design Awards

The Glasgow Institute of Architects is the largest Chapter in the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland (RIAS), and since 1979, the institute has presented its Design Awards to recognise excellence in architecture by Chapter members.

This year, multiple CCG projects were vying for a prize, with two residential developments ultimately sharing the spoils of the Large Residential Award.

The 92-home, mixed-use ‘Water Row’ for Govan Housing Group and the 78-home ‘Maltings Wynd’ for igloo Regeneration have already won multiple architectural and residential awards in 2025, so it was no surprise that the two were virtually tied when they became two of the three projects sharing the award.

Water Row is the flagship residential development of the ‘Water Row’ Masterplan and comprises 92, 2-bedroom apartments and 6 commercial premises located immediately adjacent to the pioneering Govan-Partick Bridge. Designed by Collective Architecture, the GIA Award is one of seven awards secured in this calendar year.

Designed by Stallan-Brand and Ann Nisbet Studio, Maltings Wynd is the second of two residential phases delivered by CCG at the Dundashill Regeneration in north Glasgow. It comprises a mix of 3 and 4-bedroom contemporary townhouses and is one of the most sustainable private housing developments to have ever been brought to the market in the city. It too has secured seven awards in 2025.
