Building Futures

Dundashill Platform 3, Glasgow

Dundashill is a Transformational Regeneration Area located north of Glasgow’s city centre, which is currently undergoing extensive redevelopment to deliver a mixed-use masterplan featuring low-carbon homes and commercial premises.

One such plot of the 600-home, mixed-use Dundashill Regeneration Masterplan is Scotland’s largest Passivhaus-accredited development: Platform 3.

CCG delivered the project on behalf of West Scot Lettings, a newly set up subsidiary of West of Scotland Housing Association (WOSHA) that offers tailored services for mid-market rental properties.

Designed by Collective Architecture, the development comprises 90 one two, and three-bedroom flats contained within two blocks reaching between four and seven storeys.

The homes are built to Passivhaus Classic, adopting CCG’s ‘iQ’ Timber System and Passivhaus-accredited triple-glazed windows to achieve the rigorous airtightness levels required to achieve the accreditation.

The enhanced building fabric will inherently lower energy use and emissions, with the carbon footprint further lowered through low-carbon air source heat pump technology for all space heating and hot water requirements.

Dundashill is a former distillery site of approximately 27 acres located in the Port Dundas area of Glasgow, immediately north of the city centre. The neighbourhood is fast gaining prominence as an alternative, creative destination where urban adventure activities blend with a strong arts and cultural presence. The growth of a new community will be supported by a kick-starter programme, curated by a local community interest company set up to explore and promote social approaches to city development.

Dundashill is one of two Passivhaus developments to have been delivered for WOSHA, following the completion of Springfield Cross in the east end of Glasgow in autumn 2022.
