The 58-bedroom development, located just off Anniesland Road, has been constructed on land adjacent to a popular community hub – Yarrow Recreation Club.
Like many bowling clubs across Scotland, Yarrow suffered a steep decline in membership and active players, and was reliant on the use of the clubhouse as an event space to secure revenue. However, the club decided to sell a portion of its land, thereby securing its long-term future.
Despite significant constraints posed by the adjacent bowling club and surrounding residences, CCG (Scotland) worked collaboratively with Holmes Miller, Cowal Design, and Design Me to achieve the desired number of bed spaces on behalf of our client and joint venture partner, Morrison Community Care Group.
This was accomplished through a thoughtfully considered layout and orientation that sit respectfully within the surrounding context, while also providing ample outdoor amenity space through landscaped gardens and southwest-facing balcony terraces.
Internally, the range of integrated amenities includes private, en-suite bedrooms and dining rooms with meals cooked by professional chefs, as well as a cinema room, hair salon, champagne bar, and visitors’ café, with up to 100 staff available to provide sector-leading residential, nursing and dementia care services.
Greenways Care Home was completed in late 2025, taking the number of bed spaces delivered by CCG on behalf of Morrison Community Care to over 500 since 2017.
