The £9m development has been constructed on 0.265ha of surplus land formerly owned by LCP Group. LCP owns and operates the adjacent Govan Cross Shopping Centre and sold the land to CCG in autumn 2022.
During the course of the land sale, CCG led the design of the masterplan with MAST Architects to ultimately conceive a scheme of 46, one and two-bedroom flats across two blocks reaching six storeys. The design sought to establish a new frontage to Langlands Road and Golspie Street with a materiality and configuration chosen to complement the adjacent streetscape including pre-1919 tenemental housing stock to the north and Nethan Street, an 82-home residential development completed by CCG for Eldepark Housing in 2021.
All homes are owned and managed by Trust Housing Association and were made available to residents over the age of 55 for social rent. Langlands Road is specifically targeted at an older tenant demographic seeking to live within the confluence of Glasgow city centre. The eventual approved design sought to advantage residents with balconies to selected plots and the outdoor amenity space a much-valued addition in an otherwise densely-populated, urban township.
CCG led the delivery of the development through our vast in-house divisional expertise. From land acquisition to technical design and full construction delivery, CCG’s construction, offsite manufacturing, window and door manufacturing, and plumbing divisions combined with our own Building Services and Utilities companies to realise delivery within a remarkable 20-month period.
Langlands Road was supported by grant funding from Glasgow City Council and was formally handed over to Trust in spring 2024.
