The shortlist for the annual RIAS Awards is striking in its diversity in terms of scale, location and purpose.
The judges will visit a series of public projects, including a museum, library, and healthcare facility, and will see how several historic buildings, including an outdoor swimming pool, a 15th-century tower house and doocot, and a National Trust for Scotland property in the Hebrides, have been given new leases of life through skilled building conservation.
St Andrews Drive Phases 2 and 3 was designed by JM Architects. Located on the south side of Glasgow, the 120-home development replaced a six-storey concrete flatted block with a landscape-led masterplan and a series of three- and four-storey blocks, offering a mix of one- to three-bedroom apartments and three- and four-bedroom main-door maisonettes for social and mid-market rent.
The £23m project was constructed by CCG for Southside Housing Association and was completed in 2023.
