The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) is a professional body which offers professional development, qualifications, and resources to support individuals and organisations in advancing their skills and knowledge, while advocating for the highest standards in public policy, enhancing the quality and integrity of construction projects globally.
Their ‘Rising Star’ award is aimed at highlighting ‘the best new talent in Scotland, who have shown exceptional promise and demonstrated excellence in their work, the industry and amongst their peers in the early stages of their construction career’.
Alasdair has been with CCG his entire professional career, and his nomination is a reflection of his work and leadership in the delivery of the multi-award-winning Water Row.
Completed last year, Water Row is the first phase of the multi-phased, mixed-use ‘Water Row Masterplan’ in Govan, south Glasgow. The 92-home development was delivered on behalf of Govan Housing Group, and was one of the first of its kind in the city to adopt an entirely non-gas energy strategy.
Alasdair not only had to contend with the development’s busy, highly constrained town centre location and manage a large number of supporting site and subcontractor staff, but also had to coordinate alongside the construction of the neighbouring Govan-Partick Bridge, which was delivered by Farrels concurrently to CCG’s two-year programme.
The project and now the award recognition are a testament to Alsadir’s dedication to his craft, and everyone across the CCG Group wishes him the very best of luck.
The CIOB Awards Scotland will take place this October. Find out more HERE.
